Many employees now-a-days work additional jobs outside their nine to five employment. Whether that be a night job as a bartender or a computer consulting firm, a lot of people work many additional hours in order to supplement their income. However, various people are not aware that an employer has the right to prohibit outside employment, especially if the employee's performance is affected due to a lack of sleep or time constraints. Other reasons for employers to prohibit outside employment may include conflicting business interests or overtime availability.
